Everything you wanted to know about how the app and process works in one place.
Yes, and here is why: We are building REACHTEAM to be the one place to manage all aspects of contracting with REACH, because there is so much more, we can do to with an APP to make it easier for a walker to connect with us than ever before. We can focus all of our improvement on one thing, REACHTEAM, and not many like we currently do, (SMS, email, paper, etc) REACHTEAM will get better and better over time based on feedback from you! Because we will be focusing our resources on supporting REACHTEAM, we won't be supporting all the other options into the future, so if a contractor chooses to contract with REACH, one of the prerequisites will be a suitable smartphone so you can connect with us. If you can't use or don't have a suitable smartphone, please contact your area supervisor for further advice.
No, as Independent Contractors you are required to provide your own equipment to complete the delivery services.
Yes, press ‘Start walk’ when you’re ready to start delivering.
Carry your mobile on your person (eg in your pocket), or in your carry bag / trolley. Your device needs to travel with you during your walk but doesn't have to be in your hand.
Try deleting apps you don't use.
Yes, if you have pre-paid data included or access to Wi-Fi.
Yes, if you have data available or can connect to Wi-Fi.
Yes, you can make or receive a phone call and use any other features on your mobile while using REACHTEAM.
The app will work without a data plan. At times (before you start your deliveries and once completed) the app will require your device to be connected to an internet network which can be done via Wi-Fi.
It can drain battery usage if you walk multiple sections. We've done as much as possible to ensure minimal battery usage but always make sure your phone is fully charged when you start walking.
The main purpose of the app is to make it easier for you to contract with us and to assist us in providing clients with greater confidence that their material has been delivered. The only information being recorded from the app is information which allows us to manage your distribution contract, map and verify that you have successfully completed your distribution. For more information please refer to the Privacy Policy.
Only personal information necessary for the proper functioning of the app and in connection with the delivery services will be collected from you and we do not disclose any of your personal details to our clients. Some personal information may be shared with your area representative as part of the contracting and delivery verification processes. For full details of how we collect and use your personal information, please refer to our Privacy Policy.
No, REACHTEAM will capture the device's location only when 'Start walk' is selected and will stop when 'Finish walk' is selected. Location points are retained within your device and are only sent to REACH when ‘Finish walk' is pressed. If you forget to press 'Finish walk', REACHTEAM will automatically stop capturing the devices’ location after 5 hours. You have the option to turn off the devices location by going into the device’s settings. Please also note, we only capture GPS points within your distribution round, any points outside of that are discarded and not recorded.
Free Wi-Fi hotspots are located at SPARK "Pink" Payphones or available at most Shopping Centres, some cafe's, some restaurants, libraries, some public transport, and some parks. Be sure to confirm the Wi-Fi name is legitimate before connecting to it with the operator, as no public Wi-Fi is 100% secure. Remember to disconnect from the 'Wi-Fi hotspot' when you have finished.
Yes, for Free Wi-Fi, SPARK offer them at pink payphones.
REACHTEAM allows multiple people to walk with different handsets. They just need to download the APP and login using the same contractor code as you and hit start walk, we will combine all the data together later after both users have hit finished walk and connect to WiFi or Mobile Data
Yes you can see what you have to deliver next week by selecting "Upcoming" in the APP
At times, REACHTEAM will require your device to be connected to an internet network, which can be done via Wi-Fi. Mapping a walk does not require internet connection.
As long as your location is set to ON, data is not required when you walk and as long as you leave the APP open after you hit "finish walk" it will complete the walk once the phone connects to WiFi
As a guide, walking one average size section will use approx. 100kb of data (as a comparison, uploading one social media post with a photo is around 500kb) so it is very small.
Once you press 'Start Walk', REACHTEAM will plot your device’s location at intervals based on distance and speed, until you press 'Finish Walk'.
If you find plotting isn't consistent, try the following:
* Begin walk on a fully charged battery
* Turn off any Battery Saving function within the device
* For Android:
Turn on Location Services Section:
Samsung S21/S21+/S21 Ultra, Settings > Location > App Permissions > REACHTEAM > Allow all the time.
Improve Location Accuracy Section:
Samsung S21/S21+/S21 Ultra, Settings > Location > Location Services > Turn on Wi-Fi Scanning and Bluetooth scanning.
Turn off battery saving section:
Samsung S21/S21+/S21 Ultra, Settings > Battery and device care > Battery > Background Usage Limits > Never Sleeping Apps > Click + symbol > scroll to REACHTEAM > Add
* For iPhone: Check, Settings > REACHTEAM > Location - is set to 'Always’.
Note: Not all devices are the same and may have different operating systems. Check your devices user manual for further information.
Some other potential factors which could affect plotting are:
* Low signal strength or signal obstructions
* Low grade or damaged GPS chip within device
* Speed is greater than walking pace
Such factors will be taken into account when reviewing GPS mapping data.
In settings check that 'Location' is set to ON and after pressing "start Walk" it show on the screen that Tracking is on
